This February, join me for a different kind of love story. Seven days exploring how loving yourself first isn’t selfish—it’s how you become capable of the kind of love that changes everything. Because hope begins when you fill your own well.
Love is a force in motion. It builds when it’s shared and transforms everything it touches. But here’s the truth most of us learn too late: love doesn’t arrive from somewhere else. It flows from within.
Everything You Need You Already Are
So what does it actually mean to let love move through us at full velocity?
What does love look like in practice, in the ordinary moments of an ordinary day?
Imagine this.
Instead of anger and self-righteousness, we send out compassion. Understanding. A moment’s kindness. Not just when someone is easy on us, but especially when they’re not.
Especially when they’re angry at us. When they’re angling for a fight. When they disagree with us, cut us off on the highway, are rude on the phone.
What if we choose a loving response?
Here’s the simplest way to recognize love in action:
Love grows while fear contracts.
Love increases, adds, challenges, expands. Fear decreases, subtracts, diminishes, shrinks.
Love builds up. It closes wounds. It radiates. It empowers. It inspires.
Love is goodness that expands. Kindness that heals. Warmth that radiates. Trust that empowers. Fresh ideas that inspire.
The simplest way to think about it: love makes things better. It makes us better.
Love of our work expands our horizons, sharpens our thinking, makes us believe in what’s possible.
Love for other people respects their differences, gives them the benefit of the doubt, connects us to them in an ever-expanding circle of positive relationships.
Love of our communities deepens our sense of responsibility and expands our involvement in making our neighborhoods better places to live.
And here’s the beautiful truth: when we choose love, we open a channel that flows in both directions. Out from us, and also back to us.
A smile. Letting someone go first at the store. Picking up something someone dropped. Paying for the coffee for the person behind you.
All these small acts send out love that multiplies many times over, touching every person that person touches, then the people those people touch, and so on.
Massive impact. All from one simple act.
Like a pebble dropped in a still pond, sending ripples in every direction.
This is love’s velocity in action. Not abstract philosophy but lived experience. Not someday, somewhere, but here, now, in this moment, with this person, in this choice.
So Here We Are, Beautiful Someone
After everything—the confusion, the counterfeit, the hard work of learning what love actually is—we stand at a remarkable threshold.
We’ve done the excavation. We’ve filled our own wells. We’ve learned to tell the difference between what drains us and what sustains us.
And now?
Now we get to live at full velocity.
The love that flows from a foundation of self-love doesn’t just change individual relationships. It changes the entire trajectory of your life.
It determines which opportunities you say yes to. Which people you let close. Which dreams you finally give yourself permission to pursue.
It affects how you move through the world—open instead of defended, generous instead of guarded, aligned with the fundamental current instead of fighting against it.
When love moves through us at full velocity, we become conduits for something larger than ourselves. We become part of the force that holds everything together.
Our small acts of kindness create ripples we’ll never fully see. Our capacity to love our work, our communities, our planet, ourselves, each other—this capacity expands outward in ways we can’t predict but can absolutely feel.
You’ve survived the counterfeit. You’ve done the hard work of building a foundation. You’ve learned that loving yourself first isn’t selfish—it’s how you become capable of the kind of love that changes everything.
And the beautiful truth is this: you’re not starting from zero.
You never were.
The candle already holds the flame. The seed already contains the forest. You already have within you everything you need to let love flow at full velocity.
The question isn’t whether you’re worthy of love.
You are, simply because you exist.
The question isn’t whether love is available to you.
It is, because it flows from within you.
The only question that matters now is: How much love are you willing to let move through your life?
Because here’s what I’ve learned, beautiful someone.
When you align yourself with love—when you let it guide your choices, inform your actions, determine your direction—you’re not just becoming a better version of yourself.
You’re discovering who you’ve always been underneath all the conditioning, all the confusion, all the voices that told you you weren’t enough.
You’re stepping into the current that’s been waiting for you all along.
The velocity of love determines the trajectory of your life.
So choose abundance over scarcity.
Choose connection over isolation.
Choose yourself, again and again, as the foundation from which all other love flows.
Choose to stay open even when it’s hard.
Choose to love for the sake of loving.
Choose to align with the fundamental force that makes everything work.
The current is strong. The direction is clear.
And you, beautiful someone, are ready.
Let love move through your life at full velocity.
Watch what happens.
The best is still ahead. ❤️
